Is the world getting crazier and crazier, or is it just me?

Today, several odd travel news stories came to my attention, with one slightly more believable news item from ABC News reporting that airfare costs are rising:

Meanwhile, the US State Department warns that Antarctica is a Level 2 travel advisory because of “environmental hazards posed by extreme and unpredictable weather and limited emergency services. There are no U.S. government consular services available to U.S. citizens in the Antarctic Region.”
